24 weeks (a little late)

I will actually be 25 weeks tomorrow. Sorry for my tardiness. It has been a bit hectic around here. David is getting ready to have shoulder surgery tomorrow, so he is trying to get a bunch of stuff done at home and work before he loses his shoulder for 1-6 weeks.

I had a regular OB appointment this past Friday. Everything looks good. I have gained 6 pounds. BP is on the low side at 112/72. That is actually expected, at this point, but makes bending over and standing quickly a little tricky;o) Uterus was measuring right at 24 weeks and Chelsea's heartbeat was in the 160s. Next appointment, in 4 weeks, I will have to do the glucose test again. Dr. originally wanted me to just go straight to the 3 hours, but I convinced her to let me try the 1 hour again. . . Phewf! I know that I will be vary careful about what I eat for dinner the night before and breakfast that morning.

I have definitely been feeling more movement and David has felt her a few times. Haley hasn't been able to feel her yet because she is too impatient and her hand is so tiny;o)

Heartburn has definitely kicked it into high gear. I am taking the Zantac 1-2 times per day (usually twice), and a couple of times I have had to take a dose of Tums, too. This time, I have also had what the Dr. calls warts, but are not like any warts I have ever seen. They are VERY hard to see, small bumps and basically just hurt in varying levels of severity. The worst ones (and their favorite place) are in the first crease of my thumb and first two fingers and parts of my fingers I use the most. ANNOYING and they seem to be cyclical, possibly. I tried OTC meds and I think that was more annoying and other ones pop up anyways. The up to pee 1-3 times during the night has started. So far, I have been able to get back to sleep pretty easily, so that is good. Other than those three things, I have been feeling pretty good.

24 weeks is considered the land of viability, meaning baby has a 50% chance of survival, if born at this point. For some reason, that number is not very reassuring. At 32-34 weeks, I will feel a little better about our odds and I would prefer we make it to 38:o) So, here's to 13 more weeks of nothing much to report.

Saturday we went to the beach. It was cool and gorgeously overcast. We flew a kite and played in the sand.
